The areas

Annemasse, Ambilly and Ville-la-Grand: Léman Express and tram 17, Geneva Eaux-Vives in 7 minutes by train from Annemasse station. Saint-Julien-en-Genevois: buses to Plan-les-Ouates and Carouge. Pays de Gex (Ferney-Voltaire, Saint-Genis): airport, UN, CERN.

From Annemasse station, the Léman Express reaches Geneva Eaux-Vives in 7 minutes, Champel in 10 and Cornavin in 23, no change. Because you are not buying the same thing. In a coliving residence, the rent pays for a studio in a building of up to 776 rooms, with under 4 m² of shared space per resident; in a standard flatshare, a 9 to 12 m² room with bills on top. Over 12 months, part of the gap comes back through what you do not pay for separately: gym, variable bills, subscriptions, move-in fees. And the 12-month lease can be ended with one month's notice.

Listing portals and community groups offer them on both sides of the border, with their limits: not always a lease, bills on top, a corner of someone else's home.
